The project started by giving us the option to choose a local brand that has a digital solution but was struggling in building an online presence and fulfill users' needs, Ajeeb website intrigued me they recently rebranded their concept after losing their founder and with the decline of the demand in the market they wanted to bring back those days in a way that will appeal to the new generation.

Introduction

The pandemic introduced Ajeeb to a new market which increased sales drastically despite the lockdowns, they found a way to connect digitally with their customers without the need to visit their store, However, when things started to go back to normal the users felt that they prefer the unique shopping experience in stores, so the challenge was how to create a unique value of the digital store where the customers will visit the site occasionally in between actual store visits.

The approach taken was the double-diamond process that had 4 stages ( Discover - Define -Develop - deliver).

Objectives 
  1. Elevate the user experiences at the Ajeeb website 

  2. Adding a unique value to the site 

  3. Supporting the experience of the physical store with the digital solution

  1. Lack of time to execute all the features 

  2. Finding common ground between the business goals and the user goals

  3. Creating an experience that will not substitute the physical experience of the store

Card Sorting

This project introduced a new challenge which was how to categorize a large number of products in a limited time, conducting the competitive / Comparative analysis was not enough It will give the common jargon used in websites, but I have to adapt it to Bahraini culture and use phrases that the audience will comprehend.

The most suitable method for that was card sorting, with the help of 3 users I was able to finalize my final categories.

Gender and age played a role in sorting (can be implemented to the filters)

Board games are grouped together few used the term group/family

Found common trends in(dolls /action figures/ outdoor/ building games

Some sorted toys based on the type ( physical / education ) which I can apply to the fiters

The name choice varied but it interpret the same meaning ( Building- construction/ flying-RC)

few items were in two categories such as the football goal (I can include it in two pages in the website)

Problem statement 

Users need to have a seamless online shopping experience, where they can effortlessly Find what they are looking for in between store visits.

SOLUTION statement 

Offering a unique shopping experience by highlighting an exclusive collection in limited quantities exclusive to the site without compromising store visitation
